Qigong is a practice that integrates posture, breathing, acupressure, and gentle exercise to help circulate energy throughout the body and support overall health. There are many different styles of Qigong, some of them many thousands of years old. Because every patient is different, Qigong exercises are customized to fit the patient's unique set of needs. Tai Chi is very similar to Qigong. It is considered both a martial art and an exercise and was created to support a natural state of health in the body and mind. The focus of Tai Chi is to create a balance between the function and the resources of one's body, often referred to as balancing Yin and Yang.
